The
"Living" Room: art as an accessory |
|
|
September 12th through 28th, 2003, the Millard
Sheets Gallery presented an
exhibition reminiscent of The Arts of Daily Living. Entitled,
The “Living” Room: Art as an Accessory, the intent, to
revisit the original precepts as stated by Sheets, that art is
an integral part of home design. Our present day version of
this historic exhibition will bring together a select group of
interior designers, and talented artists and artisans that
will work together to illustrate how art and craft can be
incorporated into today’s living spaces. Included in the
exhibit will be eight room vignettes, an outdoor living area
and two historic rooms. Each is planned and furnished by a
recognized interior designer and will include the artwork of
today’s leading artists. Every room is designed around a
theme- tropical, contemporary, traditional, retro and more,
each one using unique and creative pieces of art that enhance
the décor and provide aesthetically pleasing highlights among
the furnishings. |
